CRAP! I broke my toe last night. Man it hurts. Alot. I was brushing my teeth and I must have hit a picture that I had hanging next to the sink with my elbow. Then a searing pain in my toe. I yelled for my husband because I felt like I was going to pass out from the pain. I took my sock off and my toe was already swelling and turning blue. It is my little toe so I don't think there is much anyone can do so I just iced it, elevated it and complained like a little baby all night. I guess I will be wearing flip flops in 30 degree weather for the next few weeks. Did I mention how much it freaking hurts?

Sorry for the horrible looking foot but it is difficult for me to get to it. I was going to go get a pedicure but I guess that is not going to happen now!

What's happening with Judas week 30

Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)~babycenter
How far along? 30 weeks.

RIP Bossman

We had to put our big boy Bossman down this morning.
We are heartbroken to have so many losses so close together.

What's happening with Judas week 29

Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. Her muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and her head is growing bigger to make room for her developing brain. To meet her increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because her bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day. ~babycenter

How far along? 29 weeks
Total weight gain: 9 lbs total at my doctor's appt yesterday.
Maternity clothes? Yep
Sleep: On and off. Some days are better than others. Perhaps if the CRAZY dreams would stop that would help!
Best moment this week: I was given a non stress test at the doctor's office and getting to hear her heartbeat for 10 minutes (along with her kicking the monitor) was pure bliss!
Movement: Yes but not as much (hence the non stress test, gotta love my doctor for taking things seriously!)
Gender: Girl!
Cravings: I have been loving cereal this week! I think I have had it for dinner 3 or 4 nights and for breakfast almost every day!
Belly Button in or out? In but getting less in.
What I miss: Sushi and a good beer.
What I am looking forward to: My shower is a little over 3 weeks away!
Weekly Wisdom: I got nothing.
Milestones: I have moved to appts every other week, man it is getting closer and closer!

The Great (Charleston) Blizzard of 2010

We got snow last night! That might not seem like much to most people but it does not snow in Charleston, ever. The last time we had measurable snowfall was in 1989 right after Hurrucane Hugo hit. Then in 2000 we had a little dusting. Last night however we got 3 inches where I live. Some places made it up to 7!! According to our news station that is the 4th largest one day record for snow fall ever! Pretty exciting! SO for your enjoyment here are some of the pictures I took of the snow. Heck I may never see it again so I might have gone a little crazy!

I could not get showtime to stop running long enough to get a good picture!
Stinky thought it was really really cold.

Ruger just wanted to play with his favorite ball.

What's happening with Judas week 28

The flowers in the background were sent to my by friend as a tribute to Obie

By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world. ~babycenter

How far along? 28 weeks 2 days today (a little behind this week)
Total weight gain: 7 lbs
Maternity clothes? Yep
Sleep: Not so good but not really because of the pregnancy, it's all the other stuff going on that is keeping me awake.
Best moment this week: Finding out that I passed my 3 hr glucose test.
Movement: Every day. Now she is starting to have big slow movements more, as opposed to the sharp tapping movements she was having.
Gender: Girl, Addison Hope
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
What I miss: Having a closet full of clothes to chose from. It is to expensive to buy a lot of clothes so I end up wearing the same thing all the time. It is getting old.
What I am looking forward to: My shower and our classes that start pretty soon.
Weekly Wisdom: Enjoy everything because it starts to move so fast before you even know it.
Milestones: I guess I am officially in my 3rd trimester. It is moving so fast now!

RIP Obie 2/11/2010

My sweet boy Oberon "Obie"

Yesterday was a really really rough day. I got a call at 6am that my horse was down and I needed to get out to the stable ASAP. I got up, raced out, got him up and phoned the vet to come check him out. She thought it was colic and proceeded to sedate him, run a tube, and pump him up with mineral oil and electrolytes. I spent the day watching him and he went back and fourth from looking a little better to going down hill. Around 5pm we loaded him on the trailer and took him up to the equine vet so he could have better, around the clock care. They started an IV, gave him a bolus of fluids, and ran bloodwork. The results of his bloodwork were not good. He was very dehydrated and his protein was very very low. They got him rehydrated but his protein was still dropping at a rapid rate. I went back out to visit him around 10 pm last night after I received the call that he was getting worse. I wanted to say goodbye, and tell him how much he was loved. He was actually on his feet for my visit and gave me one of his lip rubs and a good nuzzle. I am beyond grateful that I got to see him pain free and loving as my last memory of him. I got the call in the middle of the night, he was down and bad. They was concerned it was cancer and had spread to his kidneys. I had to make the decision to end his suffering. It was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. Now he is pain free. I miss his so much. Rest in Peace Obie. I'm so glad I got to be your Mom.

working it out!

I just got news this morning that my request to go part time after the baby is born was APPROVED!!!! I am SOOOOO happy right now. Not only happy that we don't have to spend the money to have someone else watch our baby but that I get to be the one to watch her (well and my husband, and probably my sister, mom, best friend, maybe mother-in-law). Sure money will be a little tight, but we will make it work and I will get to be there, with her, for her! Plus just working part time is going to make work so much more enjoyable! It was starting to be a real drag and really starting to grate on my nerves. It will be good to not have to be here for 40 hours a week. We still have to work out all the details (like how long I will get to take full time maternity leave and exactly how many hours I will be working), but I trust that it will all work out in the end. Man this is such a relief for me!!!

Yea! I passed my 3 hour glucose test!!!!!!!
Let me tell you it was not fun at all. The drink is way worse for the 3 hour. There is a lot of needle sticks, and a lot of waiting and sitting and waiting. I got a good amount of reading done though. I got through all of Jenny McCarthy's Belly Laughs book and I read about 1/2 of a breast feeding book that I bought. I have to say the funniest part of Belly Laughs is the chapter entitled Funny, because I have been spending all my free time searching every website to find new absolutely adorable things that I Really it is like a baby sickness. I think my husband is going to freak out when he sees all the packages arriving. Hopefully they will all be delivered when he is at work. Oh well back to online shopping, maybe with a side of cookies!!

Crap I failed my 1 hour glucose test.
On to the 3 hour in the morning.
I am not looking forward to this 3 hours of torture.
Have I mentioned that I really hate needles? Like a whole bunch.

What's happening with Judas week 27

This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle. ~babycenter

How far along? 27 weeks
Total weight gain: I actually lost a pound at my Dr. appt yesterday so I am officially up 7 lbs total!
Maternity clothes? Yep
Sleep: Not so great this week. I can't seem to get comfortable, and I am now having leg and foot cramps at night along with ligament pain when I roll over.
Best moment this week: Well of course getting to hear her heartbeat, and learning that I didn't gain any weight, and winning a giveaway from another blog, and the fact that my blood pressure is low!
Movement: All the time. If fact I think she has started having the hiccups now.
Gender: GIRL!!!!
Labor Signs: No, thankfully not.
Belly Button in or out? In
What I miss: Sleep. I feel like I am always so tired. I know it only gets worse from here.
What I am looking forward to: I am really excited about my baby shower it is a little over a month away. I can't wait!
Weekly Wisdom: Always ask your doctor about any concerns you are having even if they just say "that is normal" It will make you feel 100% better!
Milestones: I have now moved on to appts every 2 weeks at my doctors. It seems to be flying by now!

Great day!

It's been a great day so far! Even with all the rain. I had my Glucose tolerance test today. I won't know the results for a few days since they have to send the blood off to the lab. BUT my blood pressure was the lowest it has been! I am so excited about this. It has been borderline high and I was really concerned that it was going to go really high and be dangerous for me and Addison. That was a huge relief. Then I got weighed (needless to say this is my least favorite part) and I have lost a pound! Even with all the late night ice cream and extra eating I thought I was doing. That is great news. I am only up 7 lbs total from the beginning of my pregnancy. My fundal height is right on track and her heartbeat is in the 150s (she was kicking the Doppler and rolling around when he tried to find her heartbeat so the exact number was up and down in the 150s). Great appt over all, and the glucose drink wasn't all bad.
THEN when I got to work I remembered that Jenn from Baby Makin(g) Machine was going to be announcing what she was having today on a chat on her blog. So I headed over there to see what it is (a GIRL, I am so excited for her and her husband) and she was having giveaways along with the big reveal. I WON one of the giveaways! It is any one of the maternity gowns/lingerie from the shop Sweet Dreams Maternity Wear. The hubs is going to be overjoyed! I can't wait to get it in the mail. I love winning things!
Hopefully my day will stay great, and I hope you all are having a great day too!
